Math and Science

Math and science. They go hand-in-hand for 13.7 billion years. These concepts are difficult to get the gist of. But why? Well, these two units of knowledge together make up our universe in some way, shape or form. Mathematics is the ability to see beyond reality. Math lets one escape to a mysterious realm that a mind has access to. Math is an imaginary world full of possibility and chance. On the other hand, science is how one may apply logic into the land of maths. Science gives mathematics a reason to exist. It provides logic into imagination. When math and science collide, they form a universe. A space with time as one. Throughout history, humans have observed their surrounding environments and questioned it all. These creatures have unlocked multiple mysteries within the planet they reside in. But there have also been multiple times when humans were unable to explain what they saw.

Now it’s up to you to make the next great discovery in the land of math and science. You have a chance. All you have to do is look up, down, left and right. And you’ll unlock a new path.

The underdog

Life is all about losing. Losing gets you to a greater good later. What follows winning? Of course there can be fame, money and recognition among contemporaries. The greatest example of winners and losers is in sports. In any sport, there is a favorite to win a game, and there is an underdog. Before a game is played, most people will choose the favorite to beat the underdog. But why? Maybe because of what they have heard from others. Or maybe they have been watching this team play before and just strong believe that they will win. Most people forget one thing: history. History proves in many sports that an underdog defied all the odds and defeated the favorite. Situations like this can shock the whole world. Like when the U.S. hockey team beat the USSR hockey team in the 1980 Olympics. This is a prime example of which there is no sure winner, ever! So, what awaits the favorite’s defeat? I can’t answer that. Most teams bounce back and win again time. And for some teams, that’s just not the case. The underdog plays as a decoy in games. But in the case of UMBC vs Virginia in the 2018 NCAA basketball tournament, UMBC was a huge underdog in this game. It was the first time a 16th seed defeated a number 1 seed in the tournament. This game is a reason to turn on the game or go to the game, because one may witness great history.

All in all

When one creates an online blog, they are willing to accept and put themselves out to the world and present what is not on the outside, but what’s on the inside. This semester, I discovered what my inside looks like. This blog has helped open up a new direction in my life. I plan to continue to use this blog even though my creative writing class has ended. I want to keep using this blog to better show the world who I am.

To find inspiration, one must open their five senses.

I am inspired by this poem. This is short poem that has a wide meaning behind the scenes. After reading each line of this story, I felt my heart drop to my stomach. These lines taught me something I don’t think about a lot. It taught me that everyone has to experience loneliness. Loneliness is an option or a forced upon decision made through an event or action by an opposing force. I learned this lesson so long ago. I would go away from those who I loved and just isolated myself from everyone for no reason. I used to think I was depressed, but I really wasn’t. I realized that I was trying to draw attention to myself. By reading this piece, I felt inspiration to do a good deed for someone in a need so they don’t feel lonely.

Limits

Who gets to say what? Who gives them that authority? Who does it benefit? Who does it affect? Who deserves more? Who deserves less? As a human being, we have limits in this current space time. However, as this very space time expands within the universe, opportunities are unlocked for the first time. Opportunities that were hidden from humanity because we had limits of how far we may go. As space time continues, humans have more time and space to observe what surrounds them. In math class, humans have learned the term, “The limit does not exist.” This is a famous saying in mathematics. Basically, this refers to a certain amount, or at least close to that certain amount. It means that an amount will never get to the appropriate amount no matter what you do with the function. All in all, you will not reach an actual answer. You can plug in as many numbers as you want and you will get closer to your answer, but you will still never get there. Hence, the limit does not exist. Humans over centuries have had multiple stumbles across this controversial topic of mathematics. Mathematics is basically an imaginary world that humans have access to. Interestingly, it was creating by humans and was for humans. Different math concepts have allowed humans to better figure out what the world, and the universe, have to offer. These strategies have unlocked mysteries hidden from humans since Early Man. In conclusion, limits exist, but sometimes they simply just don’t. But, we’ll see.

 

 

Size, large football

Much bigger than normal size, but maybe that’s the point. What’s the point exactly? Who wants to play with it? Made for a purpose, yes? What kind of purpose? Who or what does it benefit? We may never know. Beautiful, it is. To some. To few. To how many? Will it never matter to anyone? Or, will it? Time will tell.

Behind the scenes of a presentation

Mathematics can be complicated for many people. There are so many different topics and strategies for trying to find an answer to a problem that doesn’t actually exist, or does it? I strive in some areas and have difficulties in others. Through the years of this course, I realized that this basically imaginary world of math unlocks different key elements in science. Math and science I discovered for myself is how humans know the world around us. But how? Well, since the beginning of early human, people have looked at a presentation of a world, or at least the dwelling they were limited to. Confused, many were. Afraid, of course. Questioned, absolutely yes! Answers is what everyone wanted and still do today. Through my seventeen years of life, I have also realized that I must accept as a human. I must accept what my eyes see and what my brain tell me. Not because society tells me to, but because what else is there? I am limited, I must accept that. This is my one and only shot of life, and it’s limited. The final buzzer will sound at some point. How do I know? Because everyone in history has gone away. Where? I don’t know. Nobody knows. Confused, I am. Afraid, sure. Question, everyday.

What is love? How do we know it’s here? Where did it come from? Is it a feeling? These are questions I ask in my everyday life, and maybe some other people do as well. Synopsis
